In the heart of the city lies the historic center (centro histórico). This district encapsulates the city’s rich history, some of Mexico’s city most beautiful monuments, and its cultural heritage. The centro historico is one of the oldest parts of the city and is definitely a must-see.

  • Zócalo : known officially as the Plaza de la Constitución, which is the central square. 
  • The Metropolitan Cathedral : is also known as the Catedral Metropolitana and is a very famous landmark of Mexico City. Visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral will offer visitors a profound cultural and historical experience. 

The Zócalo also hosts festivals and markets during the year. 

N02 – Visit the National Palace

The National Palace is on the eastern side of the Zócalo. The National Palaca holds Diego Rivera’s stunning murals. These murals depict Mexico’s history.

Teotihuacan is the perfect day trip to take if you’re staying in Mexico City. Teotihuacan is about 40 kilometers away from Mexico City. Driving there should take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic.

Museo Jumex is known for its contemporary artwork expositions. The museum’s exhibitions are breathtaking, and a few we’re interractive as well when we visited the museum.

The building of the Museo National de Antropologia is located in Chapultepec Park. The museum is dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of Mexico’s indigenous people. The Museum also showcases an impressive statue of the Aztec calendar which alone is worth the visit.
