Hey, I’m Arielle and this is my story.
I started this blog as a side kick to share what I love to the world.
I’m passionate about a few things but if I had to pick my favorites, I’d say it’s travel, food and finance.
All these go together in a sense, every time I travel to a different country, I make it my mission to try all the different local foods.
Discovering a culture for me is about going to meet the people and a lot of it goes through discovering a cuisine.
I’m not really a “club med” type of girl, I really enjoy discovering what locals like, eat and drink.
MY FIRST TRAVELS
Ever since I can remember I’ve been traveling !
I’m originally from Switzerland but when I was 4 my familly moved to Singapore for my dad’s job.
There I was on another continent where I couldn’t speak the language and the culture was very different from what I had known in Switzerland.
As a young child it can be very hard to make friends, ESPECIALLY if you don’t understand them.
It took me 6 months of crying and going to school where none of my friends understood me (I only spoke french at first), until I became fluent in english and was able to communicate, this is where everything changed .
While we were in Singapore, my familly and I discovered all the neighboring countries and experienced as much as we could.
Unfortunately, when I was 6 we had to move back to Switzerland.
For a few years, I kept telling my teachers I was from Singapore and not Switzerland. I had identified so much to that culture that was for me in the beggining so foreign and different.
I had learned to love this country as if it was my own.
I deeply think that this is what encompases travel, it’s learning to discover and embrasse a country, not from a tourist standpoint but as much as possible from a local standepoint.
WHERE I’VE BEEN
Fast forward a few years and at 25 years old, I had been on every continent except Antarctica (yes it’s on my list!).
In total, I’ve been to 26 different countries.
If you want, you can check out exactly where I’ve been here.
STUDIES
I started kindergarden in Switzerland. Once we moved to Singapore I went to an international elementary school. When we eventually moved back to Switzerland, my parents wanted me to keep my english, so they put me in an international school in Geneva. It’s only at the end of my scholarity, in College that I was in a Swiss french speaking public school.
After College, I went to University to get a law degree, I got my Bachelor degree and my Masters in law.
While I was in University, I took a summer school in Mexico city, which was amazing, and I did a semester in London which was just as amazing as Mexico.
Now that I have my law degree, I started an internship as a legal intern. The goal is to pass the bar exam ASAP.
Basically, I’m your average 29 year old not ready to move on to her 30s and who is just trying to figure out how life works.
