Mexican Chili con Carne Recipe

INGREDIENTS

At its core, chili con carne combines meat (typically beef), with aromatic spices, beans, and chili peppers.

To create this recipe you will need the following ingredients :

  • Ground beef : the traditionnal chili con carne recipe will use ground beef. Variations can include pork, chicken, or vegetarian options.
  • Chili Peppers: versions without chili are pretty common, as well.
  • Bell peppers
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Schalots
  • Red Kidney beans
  • Tomatoe sauce : This is the base of the dish. However, tomatoes are known for their acidity so you will need to counterbalance this.
  • Carrots : This ingredient isn’t in the traditionnal recipe, however, carrots can counterbalance the acidity of tomatoes and this is why I include this ingredient, and love it in Chili con Carne.
  • Spices: A blend of spices such as rosemary, oregano, and paprika infuses the chili with warmth and depth.
