  • 2 Oranges
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 cups White granulated sugar

  • Sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  • First step is to clean your oranges. Try to source organic oranges if you can, since you will be eating the peel as well.
  • Slice the oranges in thin slices of approximately 0.5cm (0.2 inches).
  • Set the oranges aside.
  • Mix the sugar with the water in the saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Delicately turn the slices every once and a while and leave the slices to simer for about 45 min to an hour.
  • Then take the slices out off the saucepan and lay them on a rack to cool down and solidfy over night.
  • Once your slices have nicely cooled down prepare your chocolate mix.
  • Cut the chocolate in smaller chunks and then melt the chocolate (bain marie is my preffered method but you can melt the chocolate however you prefer).
  • Dip half of the candied orange in chocolate to coat it.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt to taste.
